ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

Michael Corrigan was a Toms River South Class of 2008 graduate who passed away in 2010 at the age of 21. Michael had a profound impact on the lives of his family and friends, and this scholarship is intended to honor his memory and will be awarded to a student who embodied Michael’s love of life.

After high school, Michael briefly attended Wake Forest University, and though it was for only one year, it had a profound impact on his life. Michael loved the Demon Decans. He was an accomplished three-sport athlete who played soccer, basketball, and ran track. He was a gentle young man, who had the wisdom and a sense of humor beyond his 21 years. He loved his friends and family, the Jets, the Mets, the Fighting Irish, March Madness, handicapping horse races, and great food. He showed strength and character through tremendous adversity and never complained.

Michael lives on in the lives of those who loved him and not a day goes by that he is not thought of.
